Artist's Description
Morning Lilies is a mixed media collage that began with a plein air watercolor session in a field of glorious lilies. The amazing pinwheels of color are short-lived, a spectacular wonder to behold. Watercolor, acrylics, alcohol ink and paper are meticulously layered to create this lovely image.
About Deborah Cherrin
I create dazzling collages that interpret the natural world through our collective imagination. Inspired by story, whimsy, and wildlife, I am so excited to share my vibrant original designs with you as original art and giclee prints as well as on fabric and textiles such as tea towels, pillows, tote bags, scarves, and other accessories. I have always believed that magic is all around us, and I found mixed media collage to be the best way to portray the joy and wonder in our world. My collages are built of layers of various papers and accented with stamps, watercolor, and alcohol ink. I use an acrylic gel medium to glue and seal my work, and am happiest when my fingers are stuck together with glue and dappled with several colors.
